You will partner with Finance, Commercial, Risk, and Technology teams to develop reporting solutions, improve data quality, and automate manual processes. The successful candidate will be confident working with large datasets, building dashboards, and communicating findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for business improvement.
  • Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • Develop, optimise, and maintain SQL queries to extract, transform, and validate data from multiple databases.
  • Support month-end and year-end reporting by producing accurate and timely financial analysis.
  • Deliver variance analysis across revenue, costs, profitability, and key business metrics.
  • Work closely with FP&A and Finance Business Partners to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Automate recurring reports and improve reporting efficiency using SQL, Power BI, Excel, and Python where appropriate.
  • Monitor data quality, investigate anomalies, and implement data validation procedures.
  • Present analytical findings and recommendations to senior management through reports and presentations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define reporting requirements and improve data governance.
  • Support ad hoc analysis for business initiatives, investment decisions, and executive requests.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Level 4 Financial Regulation certification, demonstrating a strong understanding of the UK financial services regulatory framework and financial markets. This is required to support the analysis of financial data within a regulated environment. Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, and query optimisation.
  •
  • Strong experience with Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and dashboard development.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Power Pivot, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and Power Query.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret financial information and present insights to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

  • Experience with Python (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
  • Experience working with Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, or AWS.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Workday.
  • Understanding of financial reporting standards and accounting principles.
  • Experience within banking, asset management, insurance, or financial services.

What We Offer

  • Salary of £50,000–£60,000 depending on experience
  • Annual discretionary performance bonus
  • Hybrid working model
  • Private healthcare
  • Employer pension contribution
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Life assurance
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Professional development and funded training
  • Clear career progression opportunities within Finance and Data Analytics

What We're Looking For:

We're looking for a motivated and analytical graduate with a genuine interest in finance, data, and problem-solving. You'll be naturally curious, eager to learn, and excited to build a career in financial data analytics within a regulated financial services environment.

You'll have strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify meaningful insights. We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organised, and able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

You'll also be a confident communicator who enjoys collaborating with colleagues across Finance, Risk, and Technology, and can present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A proactive attitude, willingness to learn new technologies, and a passion for using data to support informed business decisions will help you succeed in this role.
