Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and commercially minded Junior Investment Banking Associate to join our expanding Investment Banking team. Based in London, with opportunities available across our nationwide office network, this role provides an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to develop a career within investment banking, corporate finance and investment advisory.

Working closely with senior investment professionals, Associates and Directors, you will support a wide range of advisory assignments including mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, investment analysis and strategic financial projects. This position offers exposure to live transactions, client engagements and the opportunity to develop strong technical and commercial skills within a high-performance environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support senior investment professionals on mergers and acquisitions, capital raising and strategic advisory assignments.
  • Assist with financial analysis, company research and investment assessments.
  • Prepare transaction materials including presentations, investment summaries and client reports.
  • Support valuation exercises, financial modelling and scenario analysis.
  • Conduct industry, market and competitor research to support investment decisions.
  • Assist with due diligence processes and transaction documentation.
  • Participate in client meetings and provide support throughout advisory engagements.
  • Maintain accurate financial data, reports and internal documentation.
  • Monitor market developments and sector trends to identify potential opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external advisers throughout transaction processes.
  • Ensure all activities are completed in line with internal policies, compliance procedures and professional standards.

Requirements

  • No previous investment banking experience required; full training and development support will be provided. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, Mathematics or a related discipline. 
  • Must hold, or be actively working towards, a Level 4 certification relating to Investment Advisory.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, investment principles and corporate finance concepts.
  • Ability to interpret financial statements and support valuation analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop within an investment banking environment.
