Senior Accountant

Working closely with senior finance leaders, you will play a key role in financial reporting, statutory compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and supporting strategic business decisions. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts.
• Assist with the preparation of statutory financial statements and year-end reporting.
• Lead month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring reporting deadlines are achieved.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate financial variances.
• Produce budgets, forecasts and cash flow reports.
• Support external audits and liaise with auditors, tax advisers and regulatory bodies.
• Prepare VAT returns and assist with corporation tax reporting.
• Analyse financial performance and provide commercial insight to support business decisions.
• Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, accounting policies and relevant regulations.
• Mentor junior finance team members and review their work where appropriate.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting efficiencies.
• Work collaboratively with departments across the business to provide financial guidance and support.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years experience within Accounting, Financial Reporting, Audit, Management Accounting, or a similar finance environment.
• Must have completed, or be actively working towards, a professional certification in Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) relevant to financial services, corporate governance, or financial crime prevention. 
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting principles and accounting standards.
• Experience preparing management accounts and statutory financial statements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using accounting or ERP software.
• Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced professional environment.
